The Wave Brake modules, the buoyant body represented at the right and bottom right, have multiple recesses that will channel flowing water.  When a plurality of these modules is constructed into a wave attenuation system, the water will be channeled into a series of constrictions and voids that will dissipate the water wave energy by hydraulic resistance and friction.  This is critical to the effectiveness and efficiency of the system. The value of these buoyant modules results from the break in the laminar flow of water into a state of turbulence. The turbulence increases the disorganization and chaos of the incoming water, greatly increasing the distance that individual cells of water travel. As the water cells travel farther through the system, the overall resistance flowing through the system greatly increases.
